PARABLES OF JESUS – The Great Supper
Luke 14:16-17
"Then He said to them, 'A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, "Come, for all things are now ready." ' "
The purpose of this parable is to illustrate Jesus' statement in verse 14, "Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God." There is great blessing in being in the Kingdom of God now. But there is a great supper that is being prepared in Heaven. The invitation has gone out, and some day all the necessary preparations will be fulfilled. Then the call will go out – "Come." I don't want anything to keep me from answering that call. "Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb" (Revelation 19:9).
TODAY'S THOUGHT: God is preparing a great feast for everyone who will say "yes" to the invitation. RSVP!
Have an RSVP day. Love you.
