PARABLES OF JESUS – Shadows
Luke 11:36
" 'If then your whole body is full of light, having no dark part, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.' "
Even Christians, in whom the light of Christ shines, sometime have areas of their lives they do not want to be illuminated. So they keep the door to that part of their life closed, or keep it in the shadows. Because the light exposes areas of a house that are dirty, it is easier to keep them hidden in the darkness than to clean them. Paul wrote this: "For it shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light" (Ephesians 5:12-13). "What communion has light with darkness?" (II Corinthians 6:14c). "You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light" (Ephesians 5:8-9). Lord, let Your light shine into the shadows of my life that I may be clean and shine brightly, like a painting of Thomas Kinkade, the "painter of light."
TODAY'S THOUGHT: Light illuminates and exposes areas that need to be cleaned.
Have a illuminating day. Love you.
