PARABLES OF JESUS – Producing Fruit
Luke 13:7-9
" 'Then he said to the keeper of the vineyard, "Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?" But he answered and said to him, "Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down." ' "
This is perhaps my favorite parable because it speaks of God's mercy. How often I look at my life and despair because there is so little fruit. If I was God, I probably would have given up on me a long time ago and said I was not worth the effort. But the Holy Spirit keeps digging in my life, fertilizing, and pruning in the hope that someday I will be productive. Thank You, Jesus, for Your patience. What a wonderful God we serve!
TODAY'S THOUGHT: God keeps working with His people to produce a fruitful orchard.
Have a productive, fruitful day. Love you.
