PARABLES OF JESUS – Carried!
Luke 15:4-5
" 'What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it. And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.' "
This chapter is devoted to the parables of The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin, and the Lost Son. This parable of the lost sheep is similar to the parable of the lost sheep in Matthew 18, but Luke includes this note: the shepherd carries the lost sheep on his shoulders, bringing it back to the fold. What tenderness of my Great Shepherd. When I stray, He doesn't just scold me and say, "You stupid sheep! What are you doing out here? Get on home!" Instead, He lifts me in His arms and carries me. Oh, how many times He has carried me when I have strayed and didn't know which way to go. Thank You, precious Jesus.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: The Great Shepherd carries us when we lose our way.
Have a "carried" day. Love you.
