DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- NO PLAN B

NO PLAN B

Matthew 12:31-32

“ ‘Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.’ ”

This is commonly called “The Unpardonable Sin” – the only sin that God will not forgive. People can curse God and take the name of Jesus in vain, and still be forgiven. But anyone who rejects the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). That conviction leads a person to repentance. To say “no” to that conviction of sin leaves no other option for forgiveness. That is why it is important to keep a tender conscience and quickly confess our sin. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9). That is Plan A. There is no Plan B.

TODAY’S PRINCIPLE: The unforgivable sin is rejecting the conviction of the Holy Spirit that leads to repentance.

Have a “Plan A” day. Love you.
