DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- LABOR DAY

LABOR DAY

John 9:4

“ ‘I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.’ ”

Today is Labor Day when we celebrate the work ethic. There is value in work – not just the pay check, but the sense of accomplishment when the work-day is finished. Jesus had a job to do, an assignment given by the Father, and He fulfilled that task. I believe that God has a purpose for each life – a work to do. My job is to do what He has given me to do with all my heart.  "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going" (Ecclesiastes 9:10).  When my job is finished, He will call me home. The night will come when I hang it up and go home.  I will rest from my labors (Revelation 14:13), and He will say, “Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23).  “But until then, my heart will go on singing, until then with joy I’ll carry on, until the day my eyes behold that city, until the day God calls me home.”

TODAY’S PRINCIPLE: Every person has a God-given work to do until the day ends and he goes home.

Have a great Labor Day. Love you.
