Dad's Ramblings -- Parables of Jesus -- The Good and the Bad

THE PARABLES OF JESUS – The Bad and the Good
Matthew 22:8-10

" 'Then he said to his servants, "The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding." So the servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.' "

God is not a respecter of persons. He calls both the bad and the good. Sometimes I look at people and because they are smart, good-looking, talented, and seem to have it "together," I think, "They would sure make a good Christian." But God does not see people that way. He sees us all the same – people in need of salvation. In fact, Jesus said that the sick need a physician – not the whole – and that he came to call sinners to repentance (Mark 2:17). The president is just as needy as the bum on skidrow. Good religious people, like the Jews were, often do not recognize their need for salvation, so they reject the invitation. I am a sinner who heard the invitation and said, "Jesus, I come." Heaven will be filled with "bad" people.

TODAY'S THOUGHT: God invites everyone to His wedding party – both the good and the bad.

Have a good (bad) day. Love you.
