Dad's Ramblings -- Parables of Jesus -- Fresh Oil

PARABLES OF JESUS – Fresh Oil
Matthew 25:1-4

" 'Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.' "

It is a wise person who stays prepared for the coming of the bridegroom. A fresh reserve of oil is necessary to keep the lamp burning. Some people live on yesterday's experience. "I was saved 29 year ago." But the light in their lamp is dim. A fresh daily renewal will keep the lamp burning. As the old song goes, "Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning til the break of day."

TODAY'S THOUGHT: A supply of fresh oil keeps the lamp burning brightly.

Have a "renewed" day. Love you.
