Dad's Ramblings -- Standing Alone

" 'You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for my name's sake.' "

                                              Luke 21:16-17

It is hard to stand alone in the face of peer pressure from family and friends. We want to be accepted. What would give the Apostles, John Huss, Wycliffe, and many others (including those being martyred today for their faith) the determination to stay true to their faith in Jesus even in the face of death? They were absolutely convinced that the Gospel is true, that Jesus died and rose again, and that eternal salvation is only by faith in Him. There is nothing that is worth recanting my faith – whether social acceptance or even life itself.

Today's Thought: Rejection by family and friends because of my faith may mean I have to stand alone.

Have a "standing" day. Love you.
