DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- THE MARK OF GREATNESS

THE MARK OF GREATNESS

Matthew 2:25-27

“But Jesus called them to Himself and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.’ ”

The world’s concept of greatness is how many people I control and have authority over. This is the cause of conflicts and wars, whether in a family, a business, a nation, or the world: Who has control? But in God’s kingdom, greatness is identified by serving. A person can be in a position of authority and still have a servant spirit. He does not need to “lord it over them.” The servant attitude is, “How can I benefit other people?”, rather than “How does this benefit me?” This attitude of service is the mark of greatness.

TODAY’S PRINCIPLE: The mark of greatness is service.

Have a “great” day. Love you.
