INDIGNANT
Matthew 21:14-15
“Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did and the children crying out in the temple and saying, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David,’ they were indignant.”
To be indignant is to be vexed and aroused to anger. The KJV translates it, “sore displeased.” These were not happy campers! So what would make these religious leaders so angry? Was it jealousy that Jesus could do miracles and they couldn’t? Was it envy because Jesus was being praised instead of them? Lord, help me to be indignant – angry and sore displeased – by things like sin, injustice, and mistreatment of others, rather than by envy and jealousy. Help me to be genuinely happy for other peoples’ successes and praise.
TODAY’S PRINCIPLE: Envy and jealousy is a common cause of anger.

Have a happy day.
