BONDSERVANTS
Matthew 20:27-28
“ ‘Whoever is first among you, let him be your slave, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.’ ”
Before His incarnation, Jesus was the second Person of the Trinity, King of Heaven, Lord of Hosts, with millions upon millions of angels waiting to do His bidding. His position as Lord of Heaven and Lord of Creation entitled Him to the worship and service of His subjects. Yet He gave it all up in order to be a servant so that He could ransom this lost soul from hell. He is now again exalted as the supreme Lord of Heaven. It is no wonder that one of the favorite appellations of the Apostles was “bondservant” of Jesus (Romans 1:1; Philippians 1:1, Titus 1:1, James 1:1; II Peter 1:1; Jude 1). He is entitled to all the worship and service I can give Him. A bondservant has no rights or entitlements. I am entitled to nothing but to be a bondservant of the Lord Jesus.
TODAY’S PRINCIPLE: Just as the Lord Jesus relinquished all His rights and entitlements to become a servant, so should His followers.

Have a “bondservant” day. Love you.
