Dad's Ramblings -- To Be Like Jesus

TO BE LIKE JESUS
I Corinthians 15:47-49

"The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made from dust; as is the heavenly Man, so are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man."

We sing the song, "To Be Like Jesus," in the sense of being holy and compassionate as Jesus is. But some day we will truly be like Him. John echoed this when he wrote, "...when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is" (I John 3:4b). For a few years here on this earth, we bear the image of Adam – man of dust – with all its weaknesses and limitations. But when Jesus comes, we will bear the image of the heavenly Man – spiritual – without weakness or limitation. Jesus showed us what that new body is like when He appeared to the disciples after His resurrection. It was physical, yet not bound by natural physical laws because it was a spiritual body. So shall our resurrected body be. What a glorious thing!

TODAY'S THOUGHT: Our resurrected body will be like Jesus' resurrected body – spiritual and not bound by physical laws.

Have a "man of dust" day. Love you.
