THE MISERABLE LIFE
I Corinthians 15:19
"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable."
Living for Jesus brings benefits to this life – peace, freedom from addictions, purpose of life, and a host of other blessings. But if there was no assurance of life after death, we would be deceived and miss the "pleasures of sin for a season." I would be a miserable life if there was no hope of eternal life. The Christians does not just live for the blessings of this life – as good as it is — but we live for heaven.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: Assurance of eternal life is what makes living for Jesus worthwhile.
