LIVE IT UP
I Corinthians 15:30-34a
"I affirm ... I die daily. And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, 'Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!' Do not be deceived: 'Evil company corrupts good habits.' Awake to righteousness, and do not sin...."
Nihilism and Hedonism are brothers. If there is nothing after death and no accountability, why should I deny my baser desires? If this life is all there is, I may as well live it up. But there is life after death. There is a heaven to gain and hell to shun. So I need to choose carefully those whom I keep company with – people who will support and encourage a godly life. I want to live it up – toward heaven.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: Knowing there is life after death leads to godly living.
Have a "living it up" day. Love you.
