THE MIND OF CHRIST
I Corinthians 2:15-16
"But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For 'who has known the mind of the LORD, that he may instruct him?' But we have the mind of Christ."
At first reading, this seems to say that a "spiritual" man is above judgment. However, the context is the antithetic nature of natural and spiritual. The person who lives God's way – with the mind of Christ – is judged by the world to be foolish. A person who lives by God's word marches to the beat of a different drummer, which brings attacks and ridicule from the natural-minded person. (Just look at the attacks on a politician who espouses godly values.) Just because I attempt to live godly does not make me sinless, and I need to judge myself (see I Corinthians 11:31), but I cannot let the world's judgment of my life determine the way I live.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: The spiritual person lives by the mind of Christ rather than the judgment of the world.
Have a "spiritual" day. Love you.
