THE FOCUS OF THE MESSAGE
I Corinthians 2:1-2
"And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified."
How easy it is for the preacher to go on a tangent so that the message of the Gospel is diluted. It is tempting to focus on moral issues, or the decline of our nation, or politics, or prosperity, or cults, or any one of a hundred rabbit trails. There may be a need to address these things (as Paul does in the letter to Corinth), but they must not be the focus. The testimony is Jesus Christ, crucified and risen.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: Jesus Christ must be the focus of our message.
Have a focused day. Love you.
