DAD'S RAMBINGS -- KEEPING OCCUPIED

 KEEPING OCCUPIED
II Samuel 11:1

"I happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem."

It has been observed that David was abdicating his position of leadership. As king, he was the Commander In Chief of the army, and should have been with his troops instead of lollygagging in Jerusalem. His idleness, physically and mentally, provided opportunity to misuse his position as king. The old adage says, "An idle mind is the devil's worship." Proper use of my time and keeping my mind occupied with godly thoughts will leave less room for temptation to sin.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Idle time and an idle mind provide empty rooms that can be filled with ungodly thoughts and actions.

Have a "occupied" day. Love you.
