KNOWING GOD'S WILL

KNOWING GOD'S WILL
II Corinthians 2:12-13

"Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord, I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I departed for Macedonia."

Acts 16:6-10 records this incident in Paul's ministry. He was on a missionary journey to preach the gospel. He had gone  through cities in Asia but the Holy Spirit did not allow him to preach there. He tried to go to Bithynia but the Holy Spirit did not permit him. At Troas, he had a vision of man from Macedonia pleading with him, saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." So he went to Macedonia and later to Corinth. Knowing God's leading may involve a special revelation and open doors of opportunity, but it surely involves being sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and quite often results in a restless spirit until the mission is completed.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Knowing God's will requires sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and the inward restlessness of one's own spirit.
