PARABLES OF JESUS – Continual Coming
Luke 18:4-5, 7
" 'And he would not for awhile; but afterward he said within himself, "Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me" .... And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?' "
When Cheryl had the problem with her neck as a month-old infant, it took three months of diligent prayer before she was miraculously healed. Suppose we had given up after one month? After two months? After two months and three weeks? Would she have been healed? I don't know. I do know that our job is to keep seeking God until the answer comes. It is easy to lose heart (vs. 1) when God does not seem to intervene immediately. But I have to remember that the all-wise and all-knowing God has perfect timing, and I must trust Him. The answer may be just around the corner.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: God encourages us to come continually to Him with our needs.
Have a "coming" day. Love you.
