Dad's Rammblings -- The Dragnet

PARABLES OF JESUS – The Dragnet
Matthew 13:47-50

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which when it was full they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separating the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

Some of the disciples were fishermen and certainly understood this parable because their job as fishermen was to cast the net and then separate the trash fish from the good. The net of the Gospel has been cast into the sea of humanity, and has drawn in many kinds of people. But not everyone is saved. "Not everyone who says, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven" (Matthew 7:21). Jesus believed in heaven and in hell. There is a separation coming and not everyone will be saved. I want to do the will of the Father.

TODAY'S THOUGHT: A separation of the just and the wicked is coming.

Have a "Father-pleasing" day. Love you.
