LET FREEDOM RING
II Corinthians 3:14-17
"But their minds were blinded. For until this day, the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
Paul was writing about people who lived in bondage to a system of rules and regulations. Today we celebrate Freedom Day – the Fourth of July. Even as we are blessed by the liberties of our nation, we enjoy even more the liberty we have in Christ. But many are blinded to this truth. They think they are free because they read the liberties accorded by the Constitution and Bill of Rights, but they are blind to the freedoms they could have through faith in Jesus. So even though they have freedom in civil matters, a veil lies on their hearts, and they remain in bondage to sin. True freedom is not a physical liberty, but is a matter of the spirit. Freedom is not antinomianism; we are not free to do whatever we want. We are still under God's law. But there is freedom of spirit in Christ.
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: True liberty is not found in a system, but in Jesus Christ.

Have a "freedom" day. Love you.
