ENCOURAGEMENT IN MINISTRY
II Corinthians 4:15-16a
"For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart."
It is discouraging to a farmer to plant a crop and not see it grow. But when the seed sprouts and bears fruit, he is encourage to continue his labor. Paul had sacrificed his life to spread the grace of the gospel. What kept him from being discouraged and giving up was the fruit of his labor he saw in other people. That made all his sacrifices worthwhile, filling him with thanksgiving and giving him encouragement to not lose heart.
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: The heart of ministry is seeing God at work in people, and seeing God glorified.
