DAD'S RAMBLINGS – Choosing My Path
Romans 13:13-14
"Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkennness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts."
I choose the path I walk. When I know there are dangerous situations on a particular street – such as biting dogs – then I will take a different route. The word "provision" implies planning ahead. If I know that there are things or people that appeal to my fleshly desires and that incite lust, lewdness, strife or envy, then I need to take a different way and avoid them. It may mean walking down a different aisle in the grocery store to avoid pornographic magazine displays. It may mean avoiding certain people who cause strife. Since I have put on the Lord Jesus, I want to choose the paths He would walk.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: The path I choose can encourage a godly walk.
Have a "choice" day. Love you.
