THE LOVE EQUATION
I Corinthians 13:1-3
"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and have all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing."
Love adds value to whatever I do. When I stand before Jesus and the books are opened to my profit and loss ledger, how many of the things I have done will have a zero in the profit column? They may have been good things in themselves, but they profit me nothing because they were not done out of love. They will be in the "wood, hay, stubble" category, good only for burning (I Corinthians 3:12-15). Love makes even the most inept ministries valuable. To quote John Maxwell, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." Lord, help me to love like that.
TODAY'S THOUGH: The value of any ministry or good work is determined by the love equation.
Have a loving day. Love you.
