Dad's Ramblings -- The Face Of Love

THE FACE OF LOVE
I Corinthians 13:4-6

Love
         Suffers long and is kind;              Does not envy;
                    Does not parade itself;
                          Is not puffed up;
                                     Does not behave rudely;
                                            Does not seek its own;
                                                    Is not provoked;
                                                            Thinks no evil;
                                                                   Does not rejoice in iniquity;
                                                                          Rejoices in the truth.

What does true love look like?  Paul painted a picture and it is the face of Jesus.   He was patient and kind, humble, treated everyone with respect, and did not fight back in revenge.  He modeled love, and He calls us to be like Himself.  "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God....As He is, so are we in this world" (I John 4:7, 17b).  This kind of love is not natural.  It is supernatural.  When we love with God's love, we are showing Jesus to the world.  What a challenge!
