WHY WORRY?
Matthew 6:25, 27
" 'Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? .... Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?' "
Worry accomplishes nothing. It does not do anything to meet any needs, and adds nothing to the solution of my problems. It is a mind-game that saps my emotional strength. Jesus gave the illustration of the birds and flowers as example of God's care for his creation (vss. 26, 28-30). But even the birds have to search for their food. God does provide and I can trust Him to meet my basic needs of food and clothing. I don't have to worry, but that does not mean that I can sit back and do nothing. I can trust God to supply my needs according to His riches (Philippians 4:19), but I am still involved. Trusting God means I can be "anxious for nothing" as I present my needs to Him and let His peace guard my heart and mind (Philippians 4:6-7). It's not always easy not to worry, but trusting God is the way to peace.
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Worry does nothing except cause loss of peace.

Have a trusting God day. Love you.
