DAD'S RAMBLINGS --FORGIVEN

 FORGIVEN
Matthew 6:12

"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."

Forgiveness is hard work. Releasing the hurt and pain of being violated or taken advantage of is not easy. I feel the offender owes me something and needs to pay me back, even if it is just to say, "I'm sorry." But it helps me to forgive when I remember how much I am forgiven. Even though I have transgressed God's holiness, yet He forgives me. What a wonderful thing to be forgiven – released from the debt I owe. Forgiveness brings release both ways:  the release of the other person from their debt to me, and the release of my own spirit from the bondage of hurt. "Therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you must do" (Colossians 3:13).

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: The Christian must have a forgiving spirit because they have been forgiven.

Have a forgiving day. Love you.
