DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- SEEING CLEARLY

 SEEING CLEARLY
Matthew 7:3-5

" 'And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me remove the speck from your eye"; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.' "

It is human nature to concentrate on the negative, and ignore the positive. If I take a sheet of white paper with a little dot on it and ask another person what he sees, he will usually say that he sees a black dot, ignoring the rest of the white page. We universally tend to focus on the specks in other people. The truth is, I have enough black marks of my own to fix without worrying about someone else's. Lord Jesus, help me to not be so critical of others, but to see clearly my own shortcomings.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: It is a full-time job to fix one's own planks without trying to fix the specks in other people's lives.

Have a clear-sighted day. Love you.
