DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- PILGRIMS

 PILGRIMS
I Peter 2:11-12

"Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, that they may, by your good works which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation."

It is so easy to forget that I am a pilgrim just passing through this world. I don't belong to this world system. I am a citizen of another Kingdom which is at war with the kingdom of this world. The subjects of this world will mock, criticize, denigrate, and speak evil of me when I don't live by their code. But it is better to live honorably before my King than to please this world. Some day Jesus will come and hold court. My good works will be introduced as evidence for the unbelievers to see, and they will confess that God's way is best. In the meantime, my job is to please the King and not this world.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: People may reject godly living now, but some day they will see how it glorifies God.

[end]

Have a pilgrim day. Love you.
