THE REWARDS OF DILIGENCE
Genesis 39:5
"So it was, from the time he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field."
Joseph's diligence to his work not only brought him a promotion, but also brought blessings to his boss. God blessed the Egyptian "for Joseph's sake." Now there is a perspective that is rare: to do my job faithfully so that my boss will be successful. Usually the motivation of an employee is personal success and advancement. But the success of the employer has a direct effect on the success and reward of the employee. I want to do the best I can, not only for my own rewards, but so the boss will be successful. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might" (Ecclesiastes 9:10a).
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: The rewards to the employee are related to the success of the employer.
