DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- BLOOMING

BLOOMING
Genesis 39:1-4

"Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him.  Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority."

Joseph's story picks up in Chapter 39 with his captivity in Egypt. Joseph undoubtedly would rather have been in his homeland with his father and family than to be in Egypt as a slave. But he bloomed where he was planted, doing well with diligence the tasks that had been given to him. I am still learning Joseph's attitude and that of the Apostle Paul who wrote from jail, "I have learned in whatsoever state I am [whether Oregon or Arizona], to be content" (Philippians 4:11).

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: God will bless a contented person who blooms where he is planted.

Have a bloomin' day. Love you.
