DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- A Lonely Place

DAD'S RAMBLINGS – A Lonely Place
I Kings 17:2-5

"Then the word of the LORD came to him [Elijah], saying, 'Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.' So he went and did according to the word of the LORD, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan."

Cherith is a lonely place of isolation – emotionally, if not physically. God's calling may take a person on a path to a place where others   -- even family -- cannot go. Obedience to the leading of the LORD may cause separation from people because they do not have the same calling or vision. Even Jesus' family thought He was crazy (Mark 3:21) and separated themselves from Him (Matthew 12:46-47). But God's promise is that He will sustain during the times of loneliness when we feel separated from everyone. He is a faithful God.

TODAY'S THOUGHT: God will sustain during the Brook Cherith experience.

Have a "sustained" day. Love you.
