DAD'S RAMBLINGS – Chance Encounter?
I Kings 18:5-7
"And Ahab had said to Obadiah, 'Go into the land to all the springs of water and to all the brooks; perhaps we may find grass to keep the horses and mules alive. So they divided the land to explore it .... Now as Obadiah was on his way, suddenly Elijah met him; and he recognized him, and fell on his face, and said, 'Is that you, my lord Elijah?' "
Obadiah was surprised to meet Elijah. It seemed like a chance meeting. But in reality, God had orchestrated the entire affair by having Obadiah, by Ahab's direction, go to the part of the country where Elijah was. God had arranged the meeting so that Elijah could get a message to Ahab. What seemed like a coincidental circumstance was a God-ordained divine encounter. How many times has God put people into my path to speak His word into my life and I didn't recognize it? I need to be more aware of divine encounters.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: Chance meetings may indeed be divine encounters.
