THE REASON FOR CHRISTMAS
"And she will bring forth a Son and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."(Matthew 1:21)
Sin and Salvation are no longer a part of our American culture. In the 1960, Dr. Carl Menninger wrote a book entitled, "Whatever Became of Sin?" We have effectively eliminated the concept of sin by renaming various vices. Sexual proclivities (such as adultery, rape, pornography, etc.) are now called addictions. Alcoholism is called a disease. Murderers are called insane because of some traumatic event in their childhood, dysfunctional families, poverty, or lack of education. Ethical misconduct (lying, cheating, stealing) are called normal because everyone else is doing it. We can rationalize any behavior by renaming it. By doing away with the concept of sin, we have also eliminated the need for a Savior.
In God's eyes, sin is still sin. God left heaven to be born as a baby and become a part of this corrupt world in order to save mankind from sin and all of its consequences. Celebrating Christmas for any other reason is about as important as celebrating Ground Hogs Day.

WE CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS BECAUSE CHRIST THE SAVIOR IS BORN!
Have a wonderful Christmas Day. Love, Dad
