Dad's Ramblings -- The Well-Dressed Christian

THE WELL-DRESSED CHRISTIAN
Colossians 3:12-15

"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful."

A radio preacher of my youth had a weekly segment entitled, "What The Well-dressed Christian Wears." Just as we go to the clothes closet and choose our daily wear, so Paul indicates that these clothes we put on are a matter of choice. I can choose to wear the dirty old clothes of anger, pride, hate, unforgiveness, and unthankfulness, which are expressions of my fleshly emotions. Or I can choose to be merciful, humble, meek, forgiving, loving, peaceful, and thankful, which are expressions of God's character. What will I wear today?

TODAY'S THOUGHT: Being clothed with godly character is a matter of choice.

Have a choice day. Love you.
