Dad's Ramblings -- False Humility

FALSE HUMILITY
Colossians 2:18-19

"Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshily mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by the joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God."

I get nervous when I am with people who talk more about their religion and how spiritual they are than they talk about wonderful Jesus is. When they can only talk of getting up at 4:00 a.m. to pray, or how much they have memorized the Bible, or their position in the church, or their deep spiritual insight, something is wrong. They relegate Jesus to the back seat, and are "vainly puffed up by their fleshly mind." Jesus is the Head, and everything flows from Him. That means I have no grounds for pride or boasting in my "spirituality." Jesus is all in all.

TODAY'S THOUGHT: There is no room for pride in my own spirituality when Jesus is the Head.

Have a "true humility" day. Love you.
