LIFE IN TWO SPHERES
Colossians 3:5-8
"Therefore put to death in your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desires, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves, put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth."
I live in two spheres – in Christ and in the world. In the spiritual sphere, I am hid and live in the righteousness of Christ by faith. In the world, I still live in the body with its fleshly desires. As a Christian, I am charged with the task of conforming my earthly life to my heavenly life. It is a daily challenge to put my evil desires to death and live in holiness. The answer is to not just control them but to put them to death when they rear their ugly heads. Co-existence is not an option.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: The Christian lives in two spheres, and the challenge is to conform the earthly sphere to the heavenly sphere.
Have a holy day. Love you.

It seems like if I "Put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth" I will the idolatry will be put to death.
ReplyDeleteEasier said than done without Christ. With Christ, I need to examine my heart and flesh out things that I've allowed to control me. Where does my anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language come from. Why do I allow these things?
