Dad's Rambling -- Intimidation

" 'Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.' "

                                                                         Acts 4:29

Implicit in the prayer for boldness is the fear and intimidation the disciples must have felt from the "severe" threats (vs. 17) of the Jewish leaders. We don't know what the threats were, but surely they must have involved beating or death to be "severe." As they faced their fear, they turned to God for boldness and strength to speak the truth of the Gospel. We all face those feelings of fear and intimidation – whether it is from a boss and fear of losing a job, or fear of offending someone, or fear of looking like a fool. May God grant strength and boldness to stand for the truth.

Today's Thought: God's boldness can give strength to face intimidation.

Have a bold day. Love you.
