Dad's Rambling -- In and Through Faith

" 'And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.' "
 
                                                                                     Acts 3:16
 
What does it mean to have "faith in His name?" It is not some magical chant – like abracadabra. It is a declaration of faith in HIM, that He, the Savior/Healer, is able to do what we have faith for. Peter is practicing what Jesus had told the disciples just a few weeks prior: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it" (John 14:12-14). When we act in faith in and through His name, we are becoming His representatives here on earth. What awesome possibilities, and what awesome responsibility, lay before the person who will move in faith.
