Dad's Ramblings -- Faithfulness

"Drink water from your own cistern, and running water from your own well....Let your fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of your youth. As a loving deer and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and always be enraptured with her love. For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman and be embraced in the arms of a seductress."

                                      Proverbs 5:15, 18-20

Faithfulness is the issue – faithfulness to my spouse and faithfulness to the godly teachings of my youth. The result of forsaking my marriage vows is the ruin of my morals, finances, and reputation and honor (see verses 8-14). The result of forsaking the godly faith of my youth is spiritual ruin. So many times I have heard people say, "I was raised in a Christian home, but I don't believe that any more." And then I look at the destruction and havoc in their lives, and I see the fruit of drinking at the world's well. So I ask again, "Why should I be enraptured by an immoral woman and be embraced in the arms of a seductress, when all I get is pain?"

Today's Thought: Being satisfied with the wife of my youth, and being faithful to the godly instruction of my youth, brings blessing.

Have a faithful day. Love you.
