TOUCHING THE UNTOUCHABLES

 TOUCHING THE UNTOUCHABLES
Matthew 8:2-3

"And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, 'Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.' Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, 'I am willing; be cleansed.' Immediately his leprosy was cleansed."

Right from the beginning of His ministry, Jesus demonstrated that He came for everyone – even the untouchables. To touch a leper was to be contaminated and defiled. That's why lepers had to call out, "Unclean," so people would give them a wide berth. Jesus was not deterred by that restriction. Sometimes I find myself avoiding people who are unclean, but not because of leprosy, but because they are outside the norm, whether filthy bodies or filthy mouths, or some other disgusting appearance. Jesus was not afraid to reach out and touch the untouchables. May I have that same willing heart to touch the outcasts of society.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Jesus came for everyone – even the untouchables.

Have a "touching" day. Love you.
