DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- LOVING AND JUDGING

 JUDGING AND LOVING
Matthew 7:1-2

" 'Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.' "

This is a difficult lesson to put into practice, because it is so easy to condemn people. It is not in my paygrade to judge and condemn people, but to love them. This is not to say that I am not to make judgements about what is good and what is evil. I must make distinctions between right and wrong. But it making those judgments, I must love the sinner. "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" (I Timothy 1:15) because of His great love for us. He said that He did not come to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:17). Yet He judged sin through His death on the cross. This is the fine line – to judge sin but not condemn the sinner. God calls me to love – not condemn – while still standing for what is right and true. God, help me to have Your heart of love.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: God calls us to love people instead of condemning, while at the same time standing for righteousness.

Have a loving day. Love you.
