PARABLES OF JESUS – Rich Toward God
Luke 12:19-21
" ' "And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.' " But God said to him, "Fool! This night your soul will be required of you!"; then whose will those things be which you have provided? So is he who lays up treasures for himself, and is not rich toward God.' "
It's no secret. I love retirement. But what about the many who do not get to enjoy the fruit of all the years they set aside money in their IRAs and pension funds because they die shortly after they retire? They planned and sacrificed all those years, only to leave it to their kids. All of the riches of this world will be left behind. As much as I enjoy retirement, I would rather be spiritually rich than worldly rich. "Rich toward God" is a greater legacy for my family that I can also take with me.
TODAY'S THOUGHT: All of our worldly goods will be left behind; only spiritual riches will endure when God calls us home.
Have a "rich" day. Love you.
