Dad's Ramblings -- Eye Disease

PARABLES OF JESUS – Eye Disease
Luke 11:35

" 'Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.' "

Those who have had cataract surgery say that they didn't realize how dark their world was before surgery. It was not until the cataracts were removed that they realized how much the disease had filtered out the light. Eye diseases – cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration – happen so slowly that often the victim often does not recognize the changes until after they are healed. The main spiritual disease that distorts and filters the spiritual eye is the philosophy of this world. People who are "progressive" and "enlightened" consider "sin" to be out of date. They are blinded or have a distorted sense of right and wrong. Even Isaiah understood this disease when he wrote, "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness" (Isaiah 5:20). It takes continual vigilance to keep our vision from being clouded by worldly thinking and the light within from becoming darkness. We need our minds renewed daily. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2).

TODAY'S THOUGHT: We need a daily anointing of eye salve (Revelation 3:18c) to prevent eye disease.

Have a "clear-vision" day. Love you.
