"So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, 'Whatever could this mean?' Others mocking said, 'They are full of new wine.'..... But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them... 'These are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.' "

It must have been a sight – a bunch of people drunk in the Spirit, staggering around like drunken people speaking gibberish. This brought scorn and ridicule from some in the crowd. Pentecostals are still subject to ridicule – those holy rollers – by those bystanders who don't believe or don't understand. But God's ways don't often make sense to the crowd.
 
Today's Thought: The reality of Pentecost may bring mocking by the crowd.
