DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- HEALING AND FORGIVENESS

 HEALING AND FORGIVENESS
Matthew 9:5-7

" 'For which is easier, to say, "Your sins are forgiven you," or to say, "Arise and walk." But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins' – then He said to the paralytic, 'Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.' And he arose and departed to his house."

Jesus posed an interesting question. Is it harder to forgive sins or to heal? To my human mind, it would be easier to heal than to forgive sins, because Jesus is the creator and if He could create, He could certainly recreate and make whole. But it would seem more difficult for a holy God to forgive someone who had violated His righteousness. I think that Jesus was saying to the Jews that it is just as easy to forgive sins as to heal, because He has the power to do both;  they are both a part of His nature. This I know: that if I had to choose between the two, I would rather have forgiveness, because sickness only lasts for this life, but forgiveness is forever. What a gracious Savior who would forgive sin and heal.

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: God is able to both heal and forgive sin.

Have a "forgiven" day. Love you.
