DAD'S RAMBLINGS -- MOURNING

MOURNING
Matthew 5:4

" 'Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.' "

I feel sorry for people who lack emotions. Anyone who cannot feel the depth of sorrow cannot experience the heights of joy either. These human emotions – both sorrow and joy – are God-given as a part of being made in His image. But I think that in this instance, Jesus has in mind sorrow for sin for violating God's standards. There is no comfort, no easing of guilt, apart from true sorrow for sin, so the sinner must carry his own guilt. The sinner who is truly sorry for his sin is truly blessed because He receives God's forgiveness and comfort..

TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Sorrow for sin opens the door to receive God's comfort.

Have a "mourning" day. Love you.
