PASSING THE BIG TEST
II Corinthians 13:5-6
"Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you know yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless indeed you are disqualified. But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified."
To be disqualified is to flunk the test. We have all kinds of qualifying tests. We test money to make sure it is not counterfeit. We test gold to see if it is real. A racer must pass a qualifying heat to be approved for the big race. In school, I had to pass a test to qualify for an A grade. The test of being a Christian is: Do I really believe that Jesus died for my sins and that now He lives in me? This is the big test. If I don't pass this test, I am just a Christian in name only and am a counterfeit. The Living Bible puts it this way: "Check up on yourselves. Are you really Christians? Do you pass the test? Do you have Christ's presence and power more and more within you? Or are you just pretending to be Christians when actually you aren't at all? I hope you can agree that I have stood that test and truly belong to the Lord." There is only one thing that makes me a Christian, and that is faith in Jesus. If I don't pass this test, I flunk.
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Each person must test his own faith to make sure it is genuine.

Have a "qualifying" day. Love you.
