A NECESSARY REMINDER
II Corinthians 9:5
"Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation."
All of us need to be reminded from time to time of promises we have made that have been put on the back burner. Paul reminded the believers at Corinth to keep their promise. Life has a way of making demands on our time and energy for current needs and we forget commitments we have made in the past. Lord, remind me of promises I have made to You and to my family that I might keep them without "grudging obligation."
TODAY'S PRINCIPLE: Promises are easily covered by the demanding pressures of the "now" and we need to be reminded to keep them.
